About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
At 11.55 carats this is the largest yashab in this group, and green does not get much calmer or more convincing than this soft, even apple shade. It reads from across a room, which is exactly what a statement ring or a bold pendant needs.
Size brings its own demands. A stone this big should sit in a broad bezel, silver or gold, so the girdle is covered and the weight spread properly. Jade helps here: with a Mohs rating of 6 to 7 and a tightly interlocked crystal structure, it is far more resistant to chipping than its hardness number suggests. It still dislikes perfume and strong household cleaners, so put the jewellery on after you have applied them.
As with any jade, treatment is the question to settle first, because dyeing and polymer filling are both known in the trade. Our reference for this piece is AG-JD-0018; send it on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we know.
If a large green stone is new to you, hold something of similar size first, such as a coin or a small ring box, to see whether you like that much stone on your hand.
If you prefer a quieter weight, the jade collection has smaller stones. Before you choose, read our jade guide.
Pay the rider only after checking the stone. Karachi orders normally arrive in 1–2 working days, other cities in 2–4, and you can return it unused within 7 days.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural jade, known in Urdu as Yashab, with a weight of 11.55 Carat. Its price is Rs. 6,940 — roughly Rs. 601 for each carat. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference AG-JD-0018 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
From six carats up a stone becomes the centre of attention. It wants a broader shank or a secure claw setting and suits an occasion ring, a signet or a centre pendant. Clean natural material of this size turns up far less often, and the per-carat rate reflects that.
On the Mohs scale jade rates 6 to 7. That is middle-of-the-road hardness: comfortable in pendants and earrings, and in rings worn with some care. Store it apart from harder stones so it does not pick up scratches, and wipe it with a damp cloth rather than scrubbing.
Whoever you buy jade from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every jade for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
