About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
In jade, size is not the whole point. Yashab is valued for its colour and polish more than for bulk, so a 5.95 carat stone is no compromise. It sits neatly in a slim ring and hangs well as a pendant without pulling at a chain.
This one shows a soft, even apple green with a clean polish. Its reference is AG-JD-0002.
When you compare jade of any size, look at three things: how evenly the green runs, whether light enters the stone rather than stopping at the surface, and how smooth the finish feels under your thumb.
Jade may be dyed or polymer-treated, which can make a weak stone look brighter, so it is worth asking the seller directly. We are glad to tell you what we know about this piece on WhatsApp, and if you want an independent lab report, that is your choice.
At 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, with the toughness that comes from its interlocking crystals, it handles daily wear reasonably well. Keep perfume and household cleaners away from it.
More options are in the jade category. Before you choose, read our jade guide.
Order on Cash on Delivery, open the parcel and check the green before paying. Karachi usually receives it in 1–2 working days, other cities in 2–4, and returns are accepted within 7 days.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural jade, known in Urdu as Yashab, with a weight of 5.95 Carat. Its price is Rs. 3,570 — roughly Rs. 600 for each carat. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference AG-JD-0002 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
Between two and six carats is the range most people choose for a gents' ring or a noticeable pendant. Here colour drives the price more than size does, which is why two stones of near-identical weight can be priced very differently.
On the Mohs scale jade rates 6 to 7. That is middle-of-the-road hardness: comfortable in pendants and earrings, and in rings worn with some care. Store it apart from harder stones so it does not pick up scratches, and wipe it with a damp cloth rather than scrubbing.
Whoever you buy jade from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every jade for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
