About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
With rutilated quartz, value follows how attractive the inclusions are and how clean the quartz around them looks far more than raw weight. This 5.85 carat moh-e-najaf is priced at a normal rate for the family.
Hardness and wear
Quartz rates 7 on the Mohs scale. That is hard enough for a ring worn most days, as long as you keep it from knocks, and hard enough that kitchen dust and keys in a pocket will not dull it quickly.
The stone
It is natural rutilated quartz, with needle-like inclusions that vary from stone to stone. Study the photographs to see how the needles run and decide whether the pattern appeals to you. Treatment is not usually a feature of this family, but we are glad to tell you what we know about this one if you message us on WhatsApp quoting AG-MO-0012. Independent lab testing is your choice.
For the setting, a closed-back silver mount keeps the underside protected. You can see similar pieces in the moh-e-najaf listings.
Clean it with warm soapy water and store it in a soft pouch.
The parcel is opened and the stone checked before you pay anything. Karachi deliveries typically take 1 to 2 working days, other cities 2 to 4, and unused stones can be returned within 7 days. Before you choose, read our moh e najaf guide.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural moh-e-najaf with a weight of 5.85 Carat. Its price is Rs. 2,210 — roughly Rs. 378 for each carat. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference AG-MO-0012 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
Between two and six carats is the range most people choose for a gents' ring or a noticeable pendant. Here colour drives the price more than size does, which is why two stones of near-identical weight can be priced very differently.
On the Mohs scale moh-e-najaf rates 7. It handles daily wear, but a hard knock can still nick an exposed corner, so a protective setting is a sensible choice. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and keep it away from abrasive cleaners and high heat.
Whoever you buy moh-e-najaf from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every moh-e-najaf for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
