About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
Tilt this stone and its face changes. A silky band of light, called chatoyancy, slides across the surface of this 6.65 carat natural tiger eye from Brazil, over a golden-brown body. In Pakistan you will hear it called chashm-e-babri, and it is a popular, affordable stone for rings, bracelets and pendants.
Few gemstones give you this much visible character for so little. You are buying the moving light and the colour, and both are easy to judge in the photographs.
Tiger eye is mostly sold as it comes from the ground. It is the red and some blue stones that are made by heating or dyeing, which does not apply to golden-brown pieces like this. If you want to check anything about this exact stone, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we know.
It measures 7 on the Mohs scale, so it handles daily wear well. Wash it with mild soap and water and avoid harsh chemicals.
The reference is AG-000478. More are shown in the tiger eye category.
Nothing is paid upfront. The courier brings it to your door (1–2 working days in Karachi, 2–4 for most other cities), you check it, then hand over the cash, and a 7-day return window stays open after that. Our tiger eye guide has more.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural tiger eye with a weight of 6.65 Carat. Its price is Rs. 1,500 — roughly Rs. 226 for each carat. Origin: Brazil. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference AG-000478 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
From six carats up a stone becomes the centre of attention. It wants a broader shank or a secure claw setting and suits an occasion ring, a signet or a centre pendant. Clean natural material of this size turns up far less often, and the per-carat rate reflects that.
On the Mohs scale tiger eye rates 7. It handles daily wear, but a hard knock can still nick an exposed corner, so a protective setting is a sensible choice. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and keep it away from abrasive cleaners and high heat.
Whoever you buy tiger eye from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every tiger eye for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
