Blue sapphire rings, made to order
Neelam Ring Price in Pakistan: What You Are Paying For نیلم کی انگوٹھی کی قیمت
In short: Most of what you pay for a Neelam ring is the blue sapphire itself, and the silver ring adds a smaller, steadier amount. Colour matters most, then clarity, size, origin and treatment. Unheated sapphires cost more, while diffusion-treated and glass-filled stones should cost far less. Authentic Gems states known treatments on every listing and provides a certificate on request.
Most of what a Neelam ring costs is the Neelam itself; the silver ring adds a smaller, more predictable amount. Authentic Gems sells natural blue sapphires as loose stones, each with its own photo, weight and price, and sets the one you pick in a 925 silver ring made to your size. You agree everything on WhatsApp and pay when it arrives.

The four things that set a Neelam ring's price
1. The sapphire itself
Colour comes first. A clean, medium to deep blue without any grey or green fetches the most; very dark, inky sapphires and pale, washed-out ones sell for less. Clarity is next. A stone that looks clean to the eye is worth more than one with visible cracks or cloudy areas, although fine silk is perfectly normal. Price climbs faster than weight, because big clean sapphires are scarcer than small ones. Origin names such as Ceylon (Sri Lanka), Kashmir or African sources also shift what sellers ask.
Treatment has a big effect. The majority of blue sapphire sold today has been heated to improve its colour and clarity, a stable process the trade broadly accepts. Unheated stones cost more. Diffusion-treated and glass-filled sapphires should be far cheaper, and they are sometimes passed off as natural without any mention of treatment. We list known treatments on every stone, you can ask for a certificate, and independent lab testing can be arranged. See our lab-certified Neelam page.
The table below lists the loose Neelam currently in our shop. It is generated from our own listings and updated every month.

Buying by the ratti
In Pakistan, Neelam is usually quoted per ratti. A standard gem ratti is 0.91 carat (about 0.182 g), but the sunari ratti jewellers use is smaller, around 0.61 carat. A per-ratti price tells you nothing until you know which ratti is meant, so ask, then run the figures through our carat to ratti converter. Compare stones of similar colour, clarity, treatment and size, not just weight.
2. How much silver
Our rings are 925 sterling silver, priced by weight at the going rate. A chunky men's band costs more than a slim one.
3. The design
At 9 on the Mohs scale, sapphire is hard enough to sit securely in claws or a bezel. A plain four-claw or bezel setting costs less than an engraved or halo design.
4. Handmade or cast
Cast rings come from moulds and are quicker to produce. A handmade setting is built around your particular stone, which suits deep or oddly shaped sapphires.
The traditional way to wear Neelam
Vedic astrology gives Neelam to Saturn (Shani), and it is approached with more caution than most stones. By custom it goes on the middle finger, usually of the right hand, set in silver, white gold or panchdhatu, and is first put on on a Saturday. Many families try the stone for a few days before committing, and many astrologers like an open-back setting so the sapphire touches the skin. These are customs, not guarantees; read more in Neelam benefits and how to wear sapphire. Women may find our guide to the Neelam ring for women useful.
When Neelam is more than you want to spend
Plenty of blue stones are sold under borrowed names, so it is better to buy an honest blue stone under its real name than a cheap Neelam you are unsure of. Purple sapphire (Jamuni Neelam) is a true sapphire. Tanzanite, blue topaz, iolite and lapis give you blue for less, although Vedic tradition does not count them as Neelam substitutes. Check with whoever you consult before making a swap.
Getting the size right
If you are following tradition, measure your middle finger, which is usually bigger than the ring finger. Our ring size guide explains how, and if you fall between two sizes, go for the larger.
How to order
- Choose your stone. Pick one from our blue sapphire listings, each with its own photo, weight and price. For help, send us your budget and preferred weight on WhatsApp.
- Tell us your size. Message us the stone's link, your ring size and the finger it is for.
- We confirm with you on WhatsApp. You get the design, the total for stone and ring, and how long it will take. Nothing is made until you say yes.
- We set it and send it. The finished ring goes by insured, tracked courier. Karachi deliveries usually arrive in 1–2 working days, Lahore, Islamabad and other major cities in 2–4, and smaller towns within about 7.
- You pay on delivery. Open the parcel, look the ring over, then pay the rider in cash. Delivery is a flat Rs. 500.
Looking after the ring
Apart from diamond, sapphire is the hardest stone most people will ever own, but a hard knock on an edge can still chip it. Clean the ring with lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, then dry it. Store it away from other jewellery, because sapphire scratches softer stones. Check the claws every few months.
