About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
Bold on the finger, traditional in gold, cool in silver: a 5.35 carat Madagascar ruby can sit in several settings, so here are the choices. The stone is natural and red, among the finer rubies in our range, and its reference is AG-000561.
A ring is the obvious use. With a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, ruby copes with daily wear, and 5.35 carats gives a bold look. Choose a bezel if you work with your hands, or claws if you want more light entering the stone. Silver is the cooler backdrop; yellow gold is the traditional pairing for yaqoot in Pakistan. We can discuss a custom silver ring setting on WhatsApp.
A pendant is gentler on the stone, since it rarely meets hard surfaces, and suits anyone who wants to wear a ruby without worrying about knocks.
Before choosing, weigh the treatment question. As with most ruby, heating is a real possibility, and poorer material is sometimes glass-filled, which we do not sell as natural ruby. Ask us what we know, and independent lab testing is your option.

Pay by Cash on Delivery: open the parcel in front of the rider, look at the stone, then pay. Karachi orders usually arrive in 1–2 working days, the rest of Pakistan in 2–4, and you have 7 days to return it unused. Read our ruby guide before you choose.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural ruby, known in Urdu as Yaqoot, with a weight of 5.35 Carat. Its price is Rs. 37,500 — roughly Rs. 7,009 for each carat. Origin: Madagascar. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference AG-000561 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
Between two and six carats is the range most people choose for a gents' ring or a noticeable pendant. Here colour drives the price more than size does, which is why two stones of near-identical weight can be priced very differently.
On the Mohs scale ruby rates 9. Few materials will scratch it, so it copes well with everyday ring wear. A soak in warm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush keeps it bright; skip the ultrasonic cleaner if inclusions reach the surface.
Whoever you buy ruby from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every ruby for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
