About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
Fourteen and a half carats of golden citrine at this price makes some people check the listing twice. It is right. Bigger citrines are often priced at a lower rate per carat than small ones, because large clean citrine is not scarce, and this stone follows that pattern.
Ring stone or pendant stone?
At 14.5 carats it is a big stone. It rates 7 on the Mohs scale, but the extra size means more surface exposed to bumps, so we would steer you towards a pendant or a statement piece kept for occasions.
Has the colour been enhanced?
It may have been. Many golden citrines began as heated amethyst, and citrine with natural colour is paler and less common. Send us a WhatsApp message and we will tell you what we know about this exact stone. Having it tested by an independent lab is your choice.
How do I ask about it?
Quote reference AG-000206 and we will find it at once. It is a Sunela in a golden yellow shade, listed in the citrine collection.
Cash on Delivery lets you see it before you pay; delivery to Karachi is usually 1–2 working days, elsewhere in Pakistan 2–4, and returns are open for 7 days. Have a look at our citrine guide.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural citrine, known in Urdu as Sunela, with a weight of 14.5 Carat. Its price is Rs. 9,000 — roughly Rs. 621 for each carat. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference AG-000206 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
Above twelve carats you are into collector territory. Pieces this heavy are usually set as pendants or kept loose, and they are prized for the size of rough they came from. If you do set it, choose a bezel or a heavy claw to protect the edges.
On the Mohs scale citrine rates 7. It handles daily wear, but a hard knock can still nick an exposed corner, so a protective setting is a sensible choice. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and keep it away from abrasive cleaners and high heat.
Whoever you buy citrine from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every citrine for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
