About this stone
Everything we know about it
Description
Thirty carats of labradorite. At this weight the stone is meant for a collector's shelf, a heavy pendant or a statement ring.
The rate per carat stays steady across our labradorite, because price follows the quality of the flash rather than weight alone. A bigger stone costs more mainly because it is bigger.
Colour and presence
The flash here is a soft green and blue, spread across a broad dome. Large labradorite has an advantage: the effect needs area to develop, and thirty carats gives it room. The colours change with every tilt of the hand, which is why buyers like it for a piece that sits on display or on the chest.
Think about the mounting before you buy. A stone this size is heavy, so a wide silver bezel with a thick wall is wiser than light claws, and a pendant bail should be sturdy. With a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale it dislikes sharp knocks.
To discuss a custom silver setting, message us on WhatsApp quoting GSN-LB-12. Labradorite is rarely treated; ask what we know of this stone, and remember that independent lab testing is your choice. See other large pieces under labradorite.
Inspect it at your door, then pay. Karachi deliveries usually take 1 to 2 working days and other cities 2 to 4, with 7 days to return it unused. Before you choose, read our labradorite guide.
This particular stone
This listing is one natural labradorite with a weight of 30 Carat. Its price is Rs. 4,880 — roughly Rs. 163 for each carat. Treatment: treatment not tested. Quote reference GSN-LB-12 when you message us about it. The photographs show this exact stone, so what arrives at your door is the piece you chose on screen.
Above twelve carats you are into collector territory. Pieces this heavy are usually set as pendants or kept loose, and they are prized for the size of rough they came from. If you do set it, choose a bezel or a heavy claw to protect the edges.
On the Mohs scale labradorite rates 6 to 6.5. That is middle-of-the-road hardness: comfortable in pendants and earrings, and in rings worn with some care. Store it apart from harder stones so it does not pick up scratches, and wipe it with a damp cloth rather than scrubbing.
Whoever you buy labradorite from, make sure of three things: the stone is natural rather than lab-grown, glass or glass-filled; any treatment is stated in writing; and the weight quoted is the weight of the finished stone. We check every labradorite for those three points before it is listed, and because you pay on delivery you can look at the stone — or have it tested — before any money changes hands.
