Malachite is normally finished with wax or resin, and jewellers know it. That finish protects a soft surface, and a careful buyer should know about it before paying. Malachite rates only 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale; the polish helps keep its shine, though it can wear away.

So the question to ask is simple: what is the status of this 18 carat piece? Message us on WhatsApp quoting AG-000304 and we will tell you what we hold. An independent lab test is your choice if you want one.

How it looks, we can say plainly. The stone is deep green with swirling bands, opaque, with a smooth, silky surface. It is one stone, photographed as it is, with its own weight and price.

For wear, think of a pendant, a brooch, or a ring that sees little rough use. Keep it away from perfume and acids, and wipe it with a dry soft cloth after wearing. To see comparable pieces, browse the malachite collection.
