Chandi Ring with Stone: Natural Gems in 925 Silver چاندی کی انگوٹھی پتھر کے ساتھ

In short: A chandi ring with stone should be made in 925 sterling silver, which is 92.5 per cent silver with a little copper added for strength. In the bazaar, chandi can also mean lower grades or plated brass that tarnish faster. Silver flatters blue, white, green and purple stones. Authentic Gems sets the natural stone you choose in a 925 ring made to your size.

Chandi, or silver, is the metal most Pakistanis pick for a stone ring. It is affordable, it suits blue, white and green stones, and many men prefer it for religious reasons. Authentic Gems sets the natural loose stone you choose in a 925 silver ring made to your size; we confirm everything on WhatsApp and you pay in cash on delivery.

Why 925 silver, and what "chandi" can mean in the bazaar

Pure silver is too soft to hold a stone firmly, so the silver used in jewellery has a little copper mixed in. The accepted standard is 925 sterling silver: 92.5 per cent silver and 7.5 per cent other metal. In the bazaar, though, chandi gets used for all sorts of grades, and some rings sold as silver are far lower in purity or are just plated brass. Low-grade metal tarnishes faster, can leave a green mark on your finger and bends more easily. Whenever you buy a silver ring, ask for the purity in writing. Ours are all made in 925 silver.

Stones that look good in silver

The cool white of silver is especially kind to blue, white, green and purple stones.

  • Feroza and neelam: silver makes the blue stand out. See feroza ring for men and neelam ring price.
  • Aqeeq: Pakistan's classic silver ring stone, in red, black, white and Sulemani. See aqeeq ring price.
  • Dur-e-Najaf and Moh-e-Najaf: clear quartz and needle-filled quartz, traditionally set in silver.
  • Moti (pearl) and moonstone: Vedic tradition links both with the Moon, and silver is the metal that traditionally goes with them.
  • Amethyst, aquamarine and peridot: purple, pale blue and green that look sharp against silver.

Warm stones like yaqoot and pukhraj are traditionally set in gold, but plenty of people wear them in silver as well. Our post on silver vs gold ring settings weighs the two metals up.

What goes into the price of a chandi ring with stone

The stone

The stone is normally the biggest part of the bill, and it varies enormously, from an everyday agate to a fine sapphire. Shop by budget: under 5,000 rupees, 5,000 to 20,000, 20,000 to 50,000 and over 50,000. The monthly price guide shows current ranges stone by stone.

How much silver

Silver is sold by weight, by the gram or the tola, and its price tracks the market. A heavy men's band takes noticeably more metal than a slim ladies' ring, so two rings with an identical stone can end up costing quite different amounts.

The design

A plain bezel on a smooth band is the simplest option. Claws, patterned sides, a double band or a raised crown all add labour.

Cast or handmade

Cast rings come out of moulds: quick, uniform and usually cheaper. Handmade rings are built by a karigar around your stone and handle large, deep or unusual shapes better.

Silver rings for men and for women

Pakistani men generally go for a broad band with a single oval or cushion stone in a bezel, often with a flat or softly domed top. Women more often choose a slimmer band, claws that show more of the stone, or a small stone they can wear every day alongside other rings. Both use the same 925 silver; only the weight and design differ. Tell us who the ring is for and we will suggest a style that suits the stone, or send a photo of a ring you already like.

Get the size right first

Send us the size of the exact finger the ring is for. Use our ring size guide, or measure at home with these simple steps. A silver ring can usually be adjusted a little later, but one made to the right size from the start sits better.

How ordering works

  1. Choose your stone from our shop, or ask us on WhatsApp to suggest stones by colour, purpose or budget.
  2. Send your ring size and the stone link on WhatsApp, with a design photo if you have something in mind.
  3. We confirm the design, the full price and the time it will take. Work begins only once you agree.
  4. We dispatch the finished ring by insured, tracked courier. Karachi usually gets it in 1–2 working days, the major cities in 2–4, and smaller towns within about a week.
  5. You check it and pay the rider in cash. Cash on Delivery covers the whole of Pakistan.

Keeping a silver ring bright

Silver tarnishes when it meets air, sweat, perfume and the sulphur in rubber and some foods. Wearing it often actually helps, since skin contact and handling keep it polished. Wipe it with a soft silver cloth, avoid chemical silver dips if the stone is soft or porous, and keep it in a small zip bag when you are not wearing it. Take it off before swimming in chlorinated water. How to care for the stone depends on what it is; see our gemstone care guide.

Common questions

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly — we answer on WhatsApp during working hours.

What does 925 silver mean?

It is sterling silver: 92.5 per cent pure silver with a little copper added for strength, and the standard for good silver jewellery.

Which stones look best in a chandi ring?

Blue, white, green and purple stones suit silver best, such as feroza, neelam, aqeeq, Dur-e-Najaf, pearl and amethyst. Warm stones can go in silver too.

Why does my silver ring go black?

Silver reacts with air, sweat and chemicals and forms a dark tarnish. A silver polishing cloth takes it off, and wearing the ring regularly slows it down.

Can a silver ring be resized later on?

A plain silver band can often be adjusted a little by a jeweller, but patterned or stone-heavy designs are harder. It is best to send the right size from the start.

What does a chandi ring with stone cost?

That depends on the stone, the silver weight and the design. We confirm the full price on WhatsApp before making the ring.

Do you deliver silver rings across Pakistan?

Yes. Rings go by insured, tracked courier anywhere in Pakistan, from Karachi outwards, with Cash on Delivery.
