For around two hundred years Bahawalpur was the seat of a princely state under the Abbasi nawabs. Noor Mahal, Darbar Mahal and the forts out towards Cholistan still give the city a feeling of old grandeur. Court jewellery set with rubies, emeralds and pearls belonged to that world, as it did across the subcontinent, and fine stones still carry a sense of heritage here. Authentic Gems sends natural, individually photographed stones from Karachi to Bahawalpur by insured, tracked courier with Cash on Delivery.
Matching or restoring a family piece
Families in Bahawalpur sometimes need to replace a stone lost from an old necklace or ring, or find a partner for one that survived. This is how we can help:
- Send a clear photo on WhatsApp, taken in daylight, with the setting's size in millimetres if you can measure it.
- Tell us the colour to match and your budget.
- We go through current stock and send photos and weights of stones that could work.
- You compare and choose. Every listing is one stone photographed as it is, so the stone you pick is the stone that arrives.
Your family jeweller can then set it. If you would rather talk about a custom silver ring setting with us, message us on WhatsApp.
The stones of the court
- Yaqoot (ruby): valued for its red, and by tradition the stone of the Sun.
- Zamurd (emerald): the green of Mughal-era jewellery, linked by tradition with Mercury.
- Moti (pearl): used for generations in necklaces and turban ornaments, and associated with the Moon.
- Neelam and pukhraj: the two astrological stones most asked for in Punjab.
- Garnet and topaz: deep colour on a lighter budget, good as gifts.
An heirloom deserves an honest description. "Burma ruby" or "Colombian emerald" without a lab report is a claim, not a fact, and we give origin only where it can be supported.
Devotional and everyday ring stones
Bahawalpur shares the shrine culture of southern Punjab, from Uch Sharif onwards, and many people wear an aqeeq, feroza or dur-e-najaf ring. These are also the most copied stones: dyed chalcedony passed off as aqeeq, reconstituted or dyed material as feroza, and glass as dur-e-najaf. We sell natural stones only, and each listing says whether a stone is treated or stabilised. The meaning of these stones is tradition and faith, and we present it that way.
Astrological stones
If you have been advised to wear a particular stone, send us the recommendation and your budget on WhatsApp. The gemstones by rashi guide lists the traditional stone for each moon sign. We cannot promise an astrological result; we can promise the stone is natural and correctly described.
