Checking a stone in Jhelum

Salt lamps and carvings from the Salt Range are sold all over the district, and they are honest products. Ring stones are another matter, because the most popular ones are also the most imitated. Before paying anyone:

• Judge colour in daylight. Counter lamps flatter everything.

• Feel the weight of hematite. Real hematite is surprisingly heavy for its size. The common imitation, sold as "hematine", is lighter and sometimes magnetic.

Certificates, testing and returns

We sell natural stones only and disclose known treatments. A certificate is available on request, and independent lab testing can be arranged; the authenticity page explains both. If the stone isn't right, return it unused within 7 days of delivery for a refund or an exchange, as set out in the return policy.
