Faisalabad is a city of mills, markets and ledgers, and people here tend to ask a gemstone seller for the same thing they ask a yarn supplier: numbers that add up. Among the city's business families, neelam, pukhraj and yaqoot have long been favourites, partly for astrological reasons and partly as a sign of standing. Authentic Gems sends natural stones from Karachi to every part of Faisalabad by insured courier with Cash on Delivery, and each listing is priced so you can do the sums yourself.
Reading a gemstone price properly
Each listing in the Authentic Gems shop is a single stone, photographed as it is and given its own price. To compare it with anything else, use the per-carat rate:
Per-carat rate = price ÷ carat weight.
That one figure lets you set a 3-carat stone against a 5-carat one, or our listing against a jeweller's quote on Kotwali Road. Three things to keep in mind:
- The rate climbs with size. A clean 5-carat neelam normally costs more per carat than a 2-carat stone of equal quality, because big clean crystals are scarcer.
- Quality shifts the rate more than weight does. Within the same species, colour, clarity and cut can multiply the per-carat figure several times.
- No weight, no comparison. A price "per piece", or "per ratti" without an exact carat weight, leaves you guessing.
What Faisalabad buyers ask us for
- Neelam (blue sapphire): Saturn's stone in Vedic astrology, traditionally worn by business people for discipline and focus.
- Pukhraj (yellow sapphire): Jupiter's stone, a customary pick for prosperity and marriage.
- Yaqoot (ruby): the stone of the Sun, a classic men's ring long associated with authority.
- Zamurd (emerald): tied to Mercury and, by tradition, to traders.
- Aqeeq, dur-e-najaf, feroza and opal for everyday wear and gifts.
All of these are beliefs and traditions; no stone can promise a business result. Our gemstones by rashi guide sets out the traditional pairings, and the gemstone names page matches Urdu names to English.
A ring that can handle a working day
If the ring will be worn on a factory floor, in a godown or near machinery, the setting matters as much as the stone. A bezel or half-bezel, with metal wrapped around the stone's edge, protects it far better than tall prongs. Hardness counts too: sapphire and ruby, at 9 on the Mohs scale, take daily knocks much better than emerald or opal. Astrological custom often wants an open back so the stone touches the skin, and that can be combined with a protective bezel. If you want a custom silver ring setting, we can discuss it on WhatsApp.
Comparing with local offers
Faisalabad has fewer specialist gem dealers than some cities, and many stones are sold by gold jewellers whose main business is metal. That is no criticism, but it does mean lab reports and written treatment details are less common. Before paying anyone:
- Look at the stone in daylight, away from showcase spotlights.
- Ask in writing whether it is natural and whether it has been treated. Heating is normal for sapphire and ruby; it just needs to be stated.
- Get the exact carat weight and work out the per-carat rate.
- For a valuable stone, ask for an independent laboratory report.
The real vs fake gemstones guide covers simple checks at home. We inspect every stone ourselves, disclose known treatments, and provide a certificate of authenticity on request; independent lab testing can be arranged if you ask. See the authenticity page.
Delivery, payment and returns
Once your order is confirmed, it leaves Karachi within 1 working day and usually reaches Faisalabad in 2 to 4 working days by insured, tracked courier: Peoples Colony, Madina Town, Susan Road, Canal Road, D Ground or anywhere else in the city, and on to Jaranwala and Samundri, which can take a day or two longer. Delivery is a flat Rs. 500 per order however many stones you buy, and you pay Cash on Delivery after opening the parcel and checking the stone.
If the stone isn't right, send it back within 7 days of delivery, unused and in its original packaging, for a refund or an exchange. Refunds are processed within 3-5 business days after we verify the stone. See the return policy and shipping policy.
