Tariq Road is where half of Karachi goes shopping, and PECHS wraps around it: busy blocks of homes, offices and showrooms between Shahrah-e-Faisal and Khalid bin Waleed Road, with Bahadurabad just across the way. Four things to get from every seller

A price on its own tells you very little. Before comparing any two stones, from us or from a Tariq Road showroom, get these in writing:

1. The exact weight in carats, to two decimal places. "About five ratti" cannot be checked, and ratti itself varies between sellers.
2. The per-carat rate: the price divided by the carat weight. This is the only fair way to set a 3-carat stone beside a 4-carat one.
3. Natural or not, and any treatment. Heated sapphire and ruby, or oiled emerald, are normal when declared. Glass-filled ruby or resin-filled emerald sold at natural prices is not.
4. The paperwork. A certificate, and for a valuable stone, whether an independent lab report is possible.

Why the same stone looks different outside

Showroom lighting is designed to make stones sparkle, and it flatters glass just as much as sapphire. Ask to take the stone to the door and look at it in daylight. Do the same with ours: with Cash on Delivery you can step out onto your own balcony with the stone before handing over a rupee. If the colour you see is not the colour you expected, don't pay.

Bargaining, and what it hides

Tariq Road prices are open to negotiation, and a good haggle feels like a win. But a big discount on a dyed or filled stone is still a bad buy. Agree on what the stone is first, then talk about price. Be especially careful with origin names: "Kashmir neelam", "Burma yaqoot" and "Colombian zamurd" mean little without a recognised lab report. We state origin only where it can be supported.

If you have a quote from a local jeweller, send us the stone type, carat weight and treatment on WhatsApp. We will tell you what we have in a similar size and quality, with photos and weights, so you can compare like with like. If we don't have anything comparable, we will say so.

Order in the shop or on WhatsApp. We confirm by phone or WhatsApp and dispatch within 1 working day, and the insured, tracked courier usually delivers within 1 to 2 working days to PECHS Blocks 2 and 6, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, Shabbirabad and the offices along Shahrah-e-Faisal.
